Dr. Kenny Bruce accepted the role of Interim Pastor here at Warren Community Church in October 2024. His goal as our interim is to prepare the church for the responsibility of searching & selecting a new Senior Pastor. He first held listening sessions for all church members, then selected a transition team (alongside the trustees) to review our church history, outline future goals, and establish what we might look for in a pastor. All of this information has been given to our pastoral search committee & they are prayerfully working through finding the right man for the job!

Pastor Kenny’s ministerial specialty is focused on grief/serving the bereaved, as it is deeply personal to his own life after the loss of his first wife to cancer. He retired from Leawood East with the honor of Pastor Emeritus and has served in a few other churches as interim transitional pastor. His goal is to help churches in transition prepare for their next pastor and that is how he found himself here at WCC! He works in the church office on Mondays & Tuesdays and will happily give counsel as a Senior Pastor would do. Other responsibilities include weekly preaching, staff meetings/prayer, and hospital visitations. Pastor Kenny is married to Jeanie and they have 3 wonderful grown children and 5 grandchildren.
